Although there are about 20 neighborhoods within Tega Cay, much of the Real Estate is listed just as Tega Cay. Tega Cay is an organized city with its own fire department, police department, etc. However, Tega Cay does not have its own schools. Instead Tega Cay sends all off its students to the very excellent Fort Mill school system. Since it is situated on a peninsula jutting into Lake Wylie, Tega Cay has many waterfront and waterview homes. Tega Cay is ideally located less than 20-miles from Uptown Charlotte with all it has to offer but is still a rural setting where one will see horses, cows and goats. Many fine restaurants and shopping are located just minutes away, locally or in Charlotte or nearby Rock Hill.
